When positioning a birdhouse in your yard, aim to place it about 5 to 10 feet off the ground and ensure it's sheltered from prevailing winds. North or east-facing directions are usually best to avoid the hot afternoon sun.

Also, keep it away from busy areas to provide a safe haven for nesting birds and make sure it has a clear flight path for easy access.
